Tips on sticking badge back on?

Any tips on sticking a new "Range Rover" badge on the tailgate, mines missing probably due to the tailgate being painted at some point.
I've ordered a genuine part that comes in two.
They're not cheap and I guess I'll only get one chance of getting them on straight.

/\ you can't measure too much

Then use masking tape to mark out a box around where the lettering needs to go so that when your sticking the new lettering on, there's only 1 place it can really go Thumbs Up
