rear dvd screens

hi everybody my 2008 rr vogue does not have the rear entertainment system, my kids would love to watch dvds ect in back I have brought some genuine headrest with the holes in back for factory fit screens my idea was to buy some 7in dvd players and mount them in the head rests has anybody else done this if so what setups did they use, I was looking at some dvd headrest players on amazon they come fitted to the headrests and was thinking it might be possible to retro fit these to the rr headrests thoughts anybody

Better solution is to use a couple of tablets (android or if you must Apple). Then they can each watch what they want. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I agree about the tablets. not only can you store movies for them to watch, but they can play games also.

Just think about reach-ability of touchscreen in headrests.
Especially for smaller, shorter arms. Cheers, Greg

My last Vogue had rear screens. While they look cool, they are a right pain in the arse.

Everytime the kids get in - put this on, put that on.. now, a dvd is not like a old video where you simply press play. No, you need to wait for it to boot up, then you're force fed trailers and logo intros and then into a menu system before you play can the movie. This takes an infuriating amount of time, especially as you want to get going, but the front screen cuts off when the car moves, so you cannot see the menu screen to navigate it, so now your sat there stationary waiting for a dvd to load. Then when you do get going, there is no Radio2 for you.. no no, you're getting disney cartoons or similar earache to listen to while you drive. No thanks!

Kids have ipads/phones now anyway.. there is no real need for rear entertainment. 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

I’m glad I’ve got them as my son is 20 months and he can’t work a tablet yet and the screens showing cbeebies or dvd keeps him quiet with no cables hanging to pull or something to knock off getting him out, can be a faff but as it’s always on his video or channel and it plays straight away he’s happy looking at the screen while the rock music is blasting out the speakers 😁 _____________________________________________________
