Problems with the sat nav, sometimes!

Sometimes it works fine, other times no.
First it always has Belgium as the host country, I change it, its fine then I'm back in Belgium.
Sometimes I change from north up to direction and it freezes.
Sometimes it won't come off the "Don't use whilst driving or you'll die" screen, so I can't use it at all.
Are there any updates or later discs that may help?
Late 2007 spec.
