Thanks Matt - yes I just saw the £50 one, will keep an eye on it and maybe try to buy if it doesn't go for a ludicrous price, assuming my IID doesn't reveal anything before then!

If not I may well be begging on here to borrow one to test, at least when the evenings are a bit lighter.

Paul

It does sound like the TV module is iffy so certainly worth trying a known working one to see if it is definitely that or whether you need to dig a little deeper. You already have kind offers from Nick and Matt and I am just north of London if that is any easier to borrow mine.

In the meantime, I would call the dealer and report this fault and the non-working key and see what they say.

Good luck with it.

Cheers

Mark

Super, thanks Nick - definitely a problem in my vehicle then.

Hopefully my IID tool arrives on by the weekend, so I can see if any messages of television doom are lurking within!

Paul, suggest you let the dealer know asap. You're in warranty.

I'd be happy if mine would lose signal on the move Smile

Sadly even if I do fix it, from the various comments from Stan and others on here, a flaky/intermittent signal is to be expected given the digital nature of the transmission, especially when moving or in a heavily built up area.

Paul, mine gets very good reception in London. I often catch a bit of Top Geat on Dave whilst waiting to collect my wife from here or there. My daughter's got it on any chance she can find too. So well worth fixing.. Don't tell the dealer you've been fiddling with it either.
. Cheers, Greg

To bring this to a close, the IIDTool reported no issues related to TV or media, and after my fix to one of the antenna amplifier cables, the rest looked good. So given an RRS tuner of the same type was on an Ebay auction on Monday, I decided to bid on the basis that I'd just sell it on if it didn't fix my issues, and managed to get that for £100, much less than most others on Ebay.

It arrived today and I went straight out to the truck when I got home from work to swap the units over, having prepared the other one on Monday evening to come straight out with the final screw.

5 minutes later, fired up the new one, and hey presto, more than 30 digital channels instantly at my viewing disposal, and all crystal clear sitting on my driveway. I'm happy, and hopefully fiancé will be even happier! I will report it to the dealer to see if he wants to cover the cost, but for £100 and my own labour, not a massive issue thankfully.

Only slight issue is the units in the RRS, whilst being identical, use the top mounting holes as opposed to the side ones in the FFRR, and Land Rover only seem to tap out the ones needed for each vehicle. So it's currently held down onto the shelf by Duck tape, and next time I'm in Poole I'll find my tap sets and tap out the side holes so the original screws can go back in.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and offers of help in this search!

Thanks Mark.

We couldn't resist a proper test (the heated leather seats are better than the lounge in the house in this weather!), so fiancé and I just took a 15 min spin down the A13 so she could check the TV works to her satisfaction, and we could test the DualView screen.

All works beautifully, and certainly on the A13 in London, the signal held very nicely. We're out skiing next week, but will have to take it for a proper drive in a couple of weeks to give it a more thorough test Smile.
