Diagnostics Help

After some assistance/guidance re my IID Tool. I have purchased a used reader of a forum member and have acquired an unlock code from Patrick at GAP Diagnostics. Problem I now have is my LCD display is temperamental - i.e. some days all digits fine and others a bit 'hit-and miss' - today being one of the latter ! I have the comm's lead to connect the tool (Non BT version) to my laptop but my question being - do I need any software downloading on to the laptop (running Windows 10 - but do have another running Windows 7). I am unsure as how to proceed next as computers are not my forte (all a bit after my time ! ). Any help/advice greatly appreciated Smile

Tried now on 3 x separate laptops - Windows 10 , Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 - all with the same results - i.e error code as previously stated ! Hacked off to say the least !!!

Did the IID software come with an installer? Or did you just copy files and run. It sounds like it may not be installed correctly.

Followed the link on the GAP website and after logging in followed their instructions - on all 3 laptops ! Sent an email to Patrick at GAP so hopefully will have a reply Monday/Tuesday. In the mean time I am seriously thinking of selling the IID Tool as it seems to be so much hassle to use ! I have a couple of Volvo's and have the VIDA-DICE diagnostics on a laptop and it is so simple to use and comprehensive (its hat the main dealers use). Shame a Land Rover one cannot be had for a similar price !

The Bluetooth one is really the way to go.

Having only bought a BT IID last week, Patrick at GAP is incredibly helpful and responsive, so I'm sure he'll help you work through any installation issues. I haven't tried using the PC software, but have used his firmware updating software, and that worked perfectly.
