Who ever did this for you didn’t choose the right settings as it I should possible to set just the front fairy lights as DRL’s Whistle

I’m sure I read on the .GOV site that DRLs were front markers only, rears were not required as the DRLs were only meant to alert other cars to you approaching them.

The argument being that if you wanted your rears on as well you might as well just put your side / headlights on. ______________________________

I see lots of cars driving around in the dark, long after they should have their “proper” lights on, but due to the fact they don’t and the dash is illuminated, people seem to assume they have a full compliment of lights on.
I think rear lights should be on as part of the DRLs. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just look at retrofit DRLs, they don’t include the facility to have the rears on at the same time. The reason being is that when it comes time to have the headlights on the DRLs have to turn off or at the very least dim. ______________________________

I agree but people I’ve seen seem to think DRLs are actually sidelights and don’t understand the difference. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I agree that it’s the greyest of grey areas to some people, but having their ear felt by the bobbies might change their minds Thumbs Up ______________________________

I wish they would. I saw a grey car the other night in heavy rain and spray, practically invisible from the back but lit up like a Christmas tree at the front. I think what makes it even more confusing for some is that they can see light projecting out the front, not knowing they have nothing at the back.
Bloody dangerous in my mind. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

The good old days of Saab’s and Volvos with their front side lights on and their back lights have long gone unfortunately. I think the DRL legislation hasn’t been thought through - they took out the human side of the equation Big Cry ______________________________

I agree, gone are the good old days when you knew your lights weren’t on because your dash lights weren’t on.
Car makers offer the “auto” light function, thinking most drivers will use it but I doubt most people use it at all.
I hold my hands up and say that I use hire cars a lot and the light options do confuse me at first. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I thought drl's were meant to be a separate light from the side lights, the side lights on my westminster are like fairy lights, no where near as bright as some cars drl's.

I have bought a pair of replacement front fog lights which have led outer rings like angel eyes which is the DRL and led fog lights which work separately, they look really good as if they are an original part of the car but they are expensive at £129.95 on ebay plus fitting but they do come with all the wiring and smart control boxes etc.
The make is Vinstar V-130017

They're about £70 cheaper than the Osram units and still available on ebay

Westminster 62's first impressions seem OK but has anyone else fitted them? Are they any good long term?

Cheers

Thanks Stan, I thought they were a bargain until I realised there is no control unit. I realise it would only require a relay hooked into the headlights to turn the DRLs off at night but I'd prefer something less DIY.
Cheers
