Just out of interest - when you guys are looking to change your vehicles where do you look first for the replacement? Autotrader, Ebay, Pistonheads, or the local classifieds?

I was chatting with a mate who's thinking of selling his Discovery 3, he asked me where was best to advertise it as there's so much choice now.

So I just thought I would put it out there?

Its normally auto-trader as my first port of call as a means to guage whether things are good value or not. V8 or else ...

I use Autotrader/Ebay/Pistonheads when looking for vehicles to try and cast as wide a net as possible, and the 2011 5.0 S/C I bought last week was advertised on both AutoTrader and Ebay.

For selling my vehicles, I've always used AutoTrader, and they've sold within a couple of weeks for asking price.

I check Autotrader and eBay to gauge prices. A general internet search for a specific vehicle can sometimes be useful too.

Auto Trader for me; Pistonheads is much less user friendly (great fun forum though!). Never thought of using Ebay for buying a car. Main dealer ads only if I was spending £40k plus.

I flick between Autotrader and Main Dealer sites.

I use eBay to gauge what market value is though, by looking at completed listings.
I've got my L322 up for sale on the fleaBay at the moment as it happens.

Now that I buy second hand I buy from private owners - usually on Autotrader

Cheers guys. It would seem Autotrader’s the place to go.

Main agent every time - even for the wife's car. But also look on the main agent ads in Autotrader as they sometimes have variations in price for the same vehicle 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
