Intercooler removal TDV8 3.6

Has anyone done this? Any idea what steps are involved?

Yesterday I got a Restricted Performance message. Had a look at the top intercooler hoses to check for splits etc. All looking good. I replaced one about a year ago as preventative maintenance. The other had previously been replaced. Both look OK.

There is slight sign of oil misting close to where the top RH hose connects to intercooler (i.e. on the left as I look at the engine, but RH from the driver’s seat). I’ve checked the hose connection and all tight. Thinking there might be an intercooler leak, so would like to take it out and pressure test it.

I replaced the intercooler on my TD6, which leaked like a sieve. Quite a job to get old one out and new one in, involving front end dismantling. Looks like the TDV8 intercooler *might* unbolt and then slide vertically upwards, without need for much further dismantling, but hoping someone knows for sure.

Searching not turning anything up but hoping someone has been here before. Current: 2010 Range Rover L322

Very interested in this Steve.
I get the message when towing under load.
I've changed hoses and its been in a specialist for the last week but they can't find anything wrong.
I also have misting on the inter cooler.
Have you had the codes read?

Hi Paul,

No, I haven’t read the codes yet. Not sure what I’m expecting to see, really, but something about about turbo, air pressure or air flow would be my guess. Of course, it could be complete unrelated.
