Snow...? Has it been a problem?

So, had three days of heavy snow, been out and about in the FF, taking SWMBO to work and back. Watching the news, it's SNOWMAGEDDON out there.

Any of us FF owners have stories to tell?

The problem has been unnecessary panic from others and traffic jams.

Otherwise it's been a breeze.

Agree!!

The number of numptys in 'ordinary' cars who have been trying to get around and have been getting stuck / stranded is crazy!

Snow's still coming down here and the FF is outside waiting to go...

I've got a frozen pipe so no water in the house, the local village Sainsbury's is like the Somme, the boiler condensate pipe is frozen but the FF is fine. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

The RR amazed the folk at the yard when it pulled up and van loaded with a couple of haylege bales on it up and into the yard. It had been spinning away for a while. The RR made it look effortless without even a single wheel slip. For all the slagging I get about having it, they saw a different side of it.

In general, its been other people doing daft stuff really on the roads causing the roads to be blocked mostly. That being said, at work, the drifting snow caused a fair amount of issues last night when the wind level increased suddenly. 4am and sent to a call with both an HGV and a snow plough at an impasse in drifts of snow. I was frozen through by the time I finished at that one. V8 or else ...

It's been OK down here, more of a dusting than anything. 3 or 4 inches.

My L322 AB did just fine on its summer tyres, but I did have a few sideways moments.
My wife drives an evoque and that has performed excellently too.

I do 20 miles of mainly b roads to work, some of which were salted, others not.
Every day this week there has been a car off the road somewhere. Too many toys, not enough time

We’ve had a plumber round to fit some new radiators and most of his emergency jobs have been these condensate pipes freezing.

Getting around has been fine in my SC, though the rear of mine can be a bit wayward on Pirelli Scorpions, especially in normal mode. Much better in Grass and Snow.

The problem with 2wd cars in the U.K. is mainly the use of Summer tyres. Winter rubber makes a hell of a difference to grip. Si. <This is my name.

Been putting winters on for years, and it's the first time they've seen snow! Staggered how capable it is. Really is mental in the shops with panic buying, bereft of goods, at least they had drink left last night!

My condensate pipe has unfrozen this morning and the boiler is back to normal. I can now move the tea towels and jugs from underneath the boiler. I'd love to chat to the idiot plumber who routed the pipe to the outside. The washing machine waste is less than a foot from the boiler so it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to route the pipe to that waste.

Mains water to the house was only off for about 18 hours so back to normal on that front. You do miss it though. Flushing the loos was great.

Full Fat is happy though and has got me to the local village, 8 mile round trip, when needed to get provisions.

Should be all gone by tonight so we can get back to normal thankfully. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

^go and invest in some overflow pipe from the local plumbers merchant and re route the condensate to the washer drain. wont cost much and save loads of hassle next Time it freezes.

We put all ours inside, to stacks or onto sink wastes. much better solution..... Thumbs Up

Fattie has been getting dirty this week as the Disco has been in the garage for a handbrake switch, nearly got stuck, trying to pull someone out, but was OK in the end, even with chains on some of the drifts were marginal on getting through. I have all season scorpions on mine and they were much better than the LTZ Coopers on the D4. Went to pick that up this morning and there was a noticeable difference in grip levels on the slushy bits..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
