I am going crazy not being able to use my Range Rover. Thanks to my mishap with the windscreen, the car went from small crack at the bottom, to a tree pattern after 1 journey which made the car illegal to use. And quite annoyed that I am having to wait until the 12th April to get my windscreen replaced. I miss using it. Although the last time I drove it the gearbox seemed to act like it was in sport mode. Would use 1-4 in the gear range and would change at 3-4000 RPM, despite not being put in sport mode and wouldn't let me change gear manually, but wasn't in trans fail safe or anything. But after a 5 minute stop at Tesco, it was changing gears back at the normal rev range. Once the screen is done, I think I will run it back down to the gearbox company and see what they say as the gearbox has behaved differently ever since they replaced the loom.

Ok, it's official, I am glutten for punishment. Sunday afternoon I am heading to Surrey, hopefully taking my Shogun 1 way and driving a wrapped white facelifted Range Rover L322 4.4 V8 with LPG home. No this currently doesn't mean I am getting rid of this Range Rover. It just means I will have 2 L322's outside of my house.

The white one needs a few jobs sorting, mainly things to sort out my personal preferences. Like it has been lowered, not sure if it has been changed in the settings or if it is lowering link rods. Whatever it is, apparently it's causing suspension inactive to keep coming up. I am happy to take a chance as it sits at just below road travel height.
It has been mostly wrapped in white. But the roof has been left in the original dark blue which to me looks awful. So some finishing off to be done.

Hoping it is a gooden, and not a Censored

So I may from tomorrow or Monday, have a 2nd fatty diary.

I also got some better photo's of the bumper lights working on my Blue L322.

Cheers.

Sadly and weirdly the white Range Rover is a complete dog of a car, the weird part was, it was the ba*****, that ripped me off when I swapped my Discovery 3 for my current Range Rover, I wasn’t aware until I got there! He had moved from Hove to Coulsden in Surrey and changed his number after the last deal. There was no way on this planet I was going to be taking that car with me. Faulty gearbox that supposedly had no faults, oil leak, misfire, chain rattle and air suspension inactive supposedly due to being lowered. But as soon as I saw him, I instantly hated the car and wanted to hit him. I didn’t, but he drove off quicker than I could leave, I saw the warning messages on the dash as it went, bong, bong, bong, bong and saw some of the messages, and also spotted snap on diagnostics on the passenger seat.

I am sort of looking at others still but not fully going out of my way. I love the L322 I have now. The Shogun is fine for what it is, but it isn’t a Range Rover 😂

Wasn't there a white one that the wheeler dealers did some time ago?

There was, but it isn't the Wheeler Dealer one. That is in North Kent somewhere.

Thursday can't come quick enough, I have risked using it a few times, but can't wait until I know it's 100% legal again, plus having lines in your face gets really annoying.

Mine was registered Christmas eve 2002.

After the first failed attempt by National Windscreens to supply the correct windscreen, I went down in person on my 500 yard adventure Laughing and can confirm that they have the correct screen ready. But a fitter isn't available until Saturday Rolling Eyes

But at least it is getting done this weekend.

I ended up going on a 70 mile round trip too as I couldn't be bothered to go home and change cars. The cracks don't restrict my view so I could see safely. But I had to pop to hospital and was too comfy in my L322 lol So kept on going.

Still a novelty not having it go into limp mode. But also having to delay it going back to the gearbox specialist to check it by a week. This is also due to having cowboys for builders in. I am not paying the bill, my Landlord is, and I have warned them that remedial work is going to need to be completed and that this dopey company who have left a disabled person with no shower or sink to use since last Tuesday and think that is acceptable, are not being allowed back in the property after completion of the work.

My otherhalf and I ended up building a shower room out of tarpaulin and showering that way which is not fun. As the shower was left in place, but no tiles on the walls, all wood exposed etc...

The Range Rover was treated to a wash at the weekend too. Came up nicely for about 30 minutes, then it rained.

After a long hard think, which still hasn't ended yet lol. I am at this moment more than likely going to put this Range Rover mostly back to factory spec to sell on, as I am currently in talks with someone who has a fully sorted same age same colour L322, slightly better spec that I may be getting. Just had a few other urgent things come up, and this car is currently in my bad books.

On the plus side, the windscreen is being replaced in the morning. So at least it will be fully legal.

I just don't know yet.

Brief wobble over lol. A day away from the cars and a few hours doing jobs that are for this Range Rover and one to sell on helped ground me today.

I managed to carry on with the modification of the 3rd brake light which was dead on my car before I bought a brand new replacement. And I have now primed the spare panel for the bonnet for painting which I plan to paint tomorrow afternoon.

I managed to get 2 coats of silver on, but the gusts of wind wasted a lot of paint so I need a few more coats to make the bonnet panel look right.

I won't have time to touch this now for at least a few days due to other commitments, and if the weather forecast is right, it may end up being a couple of weeks. I'm not in a rush needing the panel done, but feeling impatient Laughing as I would like to get the scruffy one removed from my car asap and a nice painted one on.

My half Censored hunt is still on for a 2nd L322, but each day I look, I am more put off as there are too many neglected ones out there that are beyond my financial ability to bring back to the standard they need and deserve to be. So my trusty Shogun is staying for now. I have got it up for sale and swap though.

Now between all the other jobs I am doing on my L322, I am wheeling and dealing to raise extra money so I can finish getting my V8 to how I want it and all the repairs done.

Annoyingly, the random, and I mean, random coolant leak which seemed to stop last year, has come back. No signs of a leak though. And I randomly lost about 1 litre of coolant. I am starting to wonder if my oil cooler is at fault.

And apart from a 2012 Facelift that I would love to do, there isn't much more I want to change on my car. It's almost how I want it.

The weather put a hault on all painting jobs planned. However, I finally managed to turn 1 L322 into 2 lol.

A deal is agreed, and pending 1 repair and the change over of a private plate back to the original plates, I am now the proud owner of project number 2:

2002 TD6 HSE Adriatic Blue Range Rover, 140000 miles, guy I am getting it from has owned it for the last 9 years, spent thousands on it. Has an injector fault according to the dash. Been up in person today and agreed a swap deal. This is not replacing my V8. But is in addition to. I will start a new diary for it, the day I get it home.

(Update), seemed to be being messed around so sorted something else out lol
