AV/SAT NAV/SCREEN all dead

Driving along listening to the radio and as I went round a corner I thought I hit the mode button on the steering wheel and the screen displayed that the AV was off, then the screen went blank and now I get nothing.

Screen is blank, no Radio, no TV, No Phone, No Sat Nav. Button light doesn't flash and all of the buttons do precisely nothing,

Have I inadvertently turned everything off with some sort of special handshake required to to turn it back on again or is something more sinister likely to have happened ? Searching on here has indicated I might need to locate fuse 49, but I have no idea where that might be.

Nothing is wet in the back (in fact it is of course unseasonably hot in the UK today).

Can anyone suggest anything ?

Thanks
Andy

if you hit the red cross and the screen goes blank...when you start up next time it should be back to normal.. ... - .- -.

It's not that - it literally just closed down.

Have restarted the car since then, including leaving it for a couple of hours, and it's still the same.

I wonder if there's any link to me putting my fullfatrr.com sticker on yesterday Laughing Laughing Laughing

Well, I pulled all the AV/Infotainment related fuses and they were all fine.

Checked to see if the CD autochanger was getting power by ejecting the cartridge and re-inserting (it was).

Started the car and the screen came to life. Audio system was off as I'd spotted before it went down but it came on as normal. Tried re-creating the situation by playing with the mode button but that seems to be working as it should too.

Infuriating, but I'm happy that it works ! Seems unlikely that a fuse had come unseated, so perhaps removing the fuse reset something.

sometimes in these situations doing a battery reset helps re-boot the ecu’s so your fuse ‘in-out’ probably did the same ... - .- -.

Is the system the same sort of fibre optic setup found in BWW era 322's? If so, one of the modules going bad will take down the whole system RR History
