EBAY DVD Changer - "NO DISC" error message

Got disappointed yesterday when I installed a DVD player from a UK seller (region 2 lilke in Norway) and it did not work.

It scans through the magazine and even detects that there are 3 DVDs in there (see picture) but still I get an error message saying NO DISC.

I have included pictures of the part nos for both DVD players, the one from EBAY is the one with a rip in the sticker. Sorry about the picture being upside down...

Do I have a player from the wrong region? And how can you tell from the player? The seller states that it did work when he removed it.

Thankful for any input!

The information on the stickers looks to be the same, have you tried using different discs and also putting discs in different slots in the cartridge?

As you can see on the picture, there are DVDs in slot 1, 3 and 6. I have not tried the other slots. 2006 Supercharged

Are they genuine or copied DVD's? I can't remember, but think I have had similar when the region was different to the player in the past. I might see if I can try and put an incorrect region disc into mine and see what it does to compare.

1 and 3 are genuine and was working on a portable player I have been keeping in the car. Number 6 is a cleaning disc.

The seller is a nice guy, I can try to make it work and if not I can return it. I would rather make it work...

I would be very happy if someone could confirm if this problem indeed is Region related. I have my old player that should be the correct region, maybe I can combine parts and make it work. 2006 Supercharged

Hi just had my L322 for a couple of weeks and had the same fault
I think the mechanism gets hot and the silicon grease dries out in the auto changer
I removed the cd cassette and squirted wd40 silicon on the mechanism (not the oil based lube)
This cured my changer and it now works perfectly

That is very interesting! We did in fact try the same but were not as lucky as you. We dismantled the old unit and lubricated it with silicone spray so if we get permission to open the new one from the seller we will try to do that.

You are sure you received the exact same message? 2006 Supercharged

Ok, now we have tried a third player! This did play some DVD but not all. We sprayed it with silicone and probably got something on the lens. We tried a dry clening disc but that did nothing. We dismantled and cleaned with q-tios with water and dried it off with dry q-tips. We are now back to where it will recognize some DVDs but most of them will show only "NO DISC".

Are there any tips about cleaning the lens? Or other tips for that matter. I am getting a bit tired of this now... 2006 Supercharged

Ok, an update. We cleaned the lens with CRC electronic cleaner and afterwards it plates no DVDs. The day after i again plates the same DVDs it had played before cleaning.

Got tired an placed it aside and ordered acleaning disc with a dedicated cleaning liquid. Last week I connected it to try and clean with the new cleaning dsc, and to my surprise it played all DVDs upon startup. I have used it a week now and it is perfect, the children love it and therefore also do I...

I can think of 2 possible explanations for this behaviour:

1 The player dont like Norwegian winter. It was way below zero when we tested it first.
2 i have read that there are 2 lasers going through the same lens in this player, I guess this is achieved by prisms of some sort. Maybe cleaner got stuck innbetween lens/PRISM/laser and evaporated over time? 2006 Supercharged
