Yes , that was my understanding of the procedure, however if my gap tool is telling me there is 6.5 psi or bar then the compressor should be working so I’ll need to investigate that first then get a canister online since Halfords are not being very helpful! Thanks

Yes dial right down and gap tool telling me the same , checked two fuses in passenger side under air conditioning but both ok , will have to do a search for the relay and further fuses for compressor , I would have thought that that pressure should energise it, what I don’t know is what side that reading is taken off , low or high?

Yep I know , but if the diagnostic is taking the pressure reading off the high pressure line then , to me , the compressor should kick in when asked at 5.3 bar.
Sorry I don’t have colours to my lines , and I have a manifold application that does both lines but I know where your coming from.

Have you checked to see if you have power to the compressor, perhaps the clutch is not working RR 2005 4.4 petrol

Thanks for your reply , yes I know it’s not working , the clutch is not coming in, so when Iget home this pm I’ll further investigate, basically looking for power at the compressor terminal and or at the relay for it , do you know where the relay would be ? Cheers Pat

got this else ware, it was his fusebox
A/c compressor now working !!

I got home on Thursday and fitted the brand new fuse box that evening, no compressor and "0" voltage at the compressor.

The next morning I checked all the wiring had been reconnected after I had last looked at it, and there was no problem there.

I did have voltage previously, even if it was incorrect, so I wondered if the garage had removed the gas when they attempted to check the pressures just before I went back to sea.

Took the car in this morning, they put it on the machine, did a full system check and refilled with gas (it had been empty ).

Started the car...a/c working!

So all my troubles actually related to a bad fuse box.

Thanks to everybody that chimed in with suggestions and helpful information.

Regards
Don RR 2005 4.4 petrol

Was looking at my gauges today, I don’t know but I think the high side should be about 150/160psi
Which is about 10bar
5bar is to high for the low side and to low for the high side, if that reading is the high side, perhaps its not high enough to kick the clutch in RR 2005 4.4 petrol
