Whistle Good luck with that... you'll get the reply it's made by LR!

Take the plunge and get an NTSC camera, if it wont work with your car sell it on here and get a PAL!! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

The reverse camera on my recently acquired 2007 VSE was I think installed by Monet, the picture quality can best be described as an impression of what behind the car at best!
It most of the time looks just very very over exposed, sometimes it just looks Censored .

There seems to be a little condensation in the window of the housing so I was wondering if anyone here has had the same and found a solution by just cleaning the housing inside rather than replacing the whole camera? David

OK, what a f*****g stupid way to mount a reversing camera....riveted in? Who does that? Oh yes....LR......

Anyhoo after much cursing and tea and a burnt back, yes it is beautiful down here today, I decided to have a closer look at the camera itself or the housing to be precise, the little window was covered in condensation so I got a little plastic lever and the “window” popped out, wiped it tried the camera and the image is soooo much better, still a crap screen though lowest resolution since Mario Cart.
Decided to live with it for now......I think the biggest limiting factor is the screen so maybe even fitting a better camera (like the wireless replacement I fitted on our ML a few years ago) would not be worth it.

Anyway with the spoiler off I could at least clean it all up underneath there and oil/grease the wiper arm pivot that looked like it had not been lubricated since it was made! Now the wiper clears the rear screen properly so that’s at least a result, and that’s another thing......they design the rear wiper so you have to REMOVE THE REAR SPOILER to change the arm?

This is my first RR....I love it but I am learning fast Laughing David

I still can't fathom out why they mounted the camera in such a stupidly high place... you end up with a 2 foot blind spot behind the car and if you're trying to couple a trailer....

Lets just say.... Bob Hope and no hope Laughing

The really annoying thing is they mounted it in the number plate lamp on the X5.... and you don't see many of them towing anything, but when it comes to favourite horse taxi....
