Rear RHD break sticking

Hello all,
Just starting having an issue with the rear RHD break only.
looks like that the rear brake is sticking and causing the rear break disk to be become very hot.
This even for very short trips. I have had the caliper and the break pads checked. Of course goes without saying that I am driving without the handbrake ON.
I have ordered and about to get fitted some new rear brake pads, some rear brake hoses, one RHD break calliper.
Has anyone bumped into this issue? Could it be related to the ABS "box" in the engine bay? I haven't taken it to a RR dealer as it is about an hour's drive, and I am sure that my break disk would become RED HOT.
Thanks for your advice, help and ideas.

Sticking rear and occasionally front brake callipers are common on these cars I'm afraid. If you are satisfied the brake pads are free to move as required, a new calliper should solve your problem. I doubt your handbrake is causing your problem, they hardly work at the best of times. If you carry on driving the car it is indeed possible to get the rear disc glowing red.
It might be worth considering changing both rear callipers at the same time, the other side won't be far off causing problems. Thumbs Up

many sticking calliper issues are actually just stuck pads.

A good indication is when you strip the brake down if the pads are easy to get out then its probably the calliper, if they are a tight fit or the new pads wont just slip straight in then it needs the calliper carrier cleaning back and the corrosion removing with a wire brush and file. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

To be fair NMJ the carriers should be cleaned each time you replace pads... Removing the carrier to clean these out properly also gives you the chance to remove the sliders clean and re-grease them before refitting/rebuilding the corner Thumbs Up

If I'm replacing a calliper (and I've had to do it many times on the 3 we've owned - at least two per vehicle over the time we've owned them), I always get a new carrier as well - it just saves time later down the road Smile

I agree craig, just pointing out that it’s not always the calliper itself which is the problem. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
