Deployable step issues

Hi, I mounted original deployable steps to our 07 l322 in August 2015, and the steps have worked fine until this winter. Then a strange “squeeze” noise started appearing on the right hand step when extracting and retracting the steps. I therefore disabled the steps for a while, and now our Indy has looked at it. It seems that the right hand step motor is turning an extra 1/2 turn on each operation, causing the noise from the gears inside the right hand step motor.

Is there a way to adjust the motor movement - make it turn a 1/2 turn less (as it did before)? Anyone else that have had this issue?

I will try later today to add a video clip that shows the movement and the noise —-> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yihVAdL5...dui3NNLCw7

Hmm - that does not sound good. I have a squeak on my right hand side (the left one is perfect) and am not able to figure out why..... I wonder if the right step can get bent or hit by a curb when backing up as they do deploy before the door opens. 2008 HSE B. Grey

Do anyone know if it’s possible to reset the BCU/BCM that controls the steps? Is that an option with Gap IID tool?
My thinking is that the right step motor might just need a reset in order to start using the original number of rotations?

Are they proper stepper motors or just motors with limit switches ? I would have thought the latter in which case a tweak to the switch shoud sort it No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue

Gary at FamousFour (where I bought the steps) did speak with LR about this in the beginning of June, but no reply yet. My hope is that there is a way to reset the module that is controlling the step motors, and if that doesn’t work, we have to get the step motors replaced.
