Smoking, sometimes?

My new to me 57 plate 80,000 mile tdv8 smokes at odd times, very gentle throttle accelerating from say 70-75 mph.
It leads me to wonder if it's had a poor remap?
It drives lovely, feels very quick, not using oil and is doing 30mpg on a run, any thoughts?

Black or white smoke ?

3.6 TDV8 smoking - always check the top intercooler hoses

They usually cause black smoke under harder acceleration - but a VERY common issue

Black smoke, are the intercooler hoses at the top or are there lower ones as well?

It’s usually (but not always) the top ones

You may have to remove them to check properly - but it’s an easy job - at least the top ones are......

I've had the top ones off and they look fine, although they feel very different.
The near side being very soft and the offside very hard by comparison.
I'll try and get the lower ones off to see what they are like.

Found it!
As it got progressively worse, there are 4 pipes at the top, to small right angled ones as well under the cover.

That's the one that split on our TDV8.
There a pig to get back on because the hose is so short there's little flex to help manoeuvre it on.
I warmed the hoses with hairdryer to help ! Paul,
