Coolant leak

2007 4.2L SC with a small deposit of 'liquid' under the nearside front corner. Then a 'check coolant level' warning on the dash.

Any advice as to the best approach to take here from a DIY perspective? I need to change a sidelight so will the grill and headlamp removal help with visibility, or does this not reveal much - I've not done it before.

Any words of wisdom from fellow roadside mechanics welcome! Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5
Past: 1968 LR 2.25 (petrol) Series IIa

Sounds like the radiator has a hole, that is where it goes, ...or you have a weeping joint in the Front Left area somewhere.

Drain down, dismantle and investigate Thumbs Up .

An easy start would be to put the car on the high suspension setting and then slide underneath the front and remove the plastic tray which runs from the back of the bumper to the front of the engine. Lots of little screws to keep safe. That will allow you to see the bottom of the radiator. My 2004 car needed a new radiator when one of the bottom corners started leaking, symptoms very similar to yours. The radiator replacement was not that expensive. Only Range Rovers since 1988
