Second of many questions

Hi All

two questions this time, I have a tow bar attached that I want to remove, is this supposed to be a quick release type? if so how I move the levers in the direction indicated, but it's not budging. second question, there was a recent post about seat / leather restoration, you will see from the photos my seats are in a poor state! the last owner had three boys all into their football, so stud marks every where Big Cry does anyone have an idea whether the seats are repairable / restorable? as they are quite bad (pics of Tow bar and seats below)

It's a brink like mine.

I pushed the lever too hard when I first tried to remove mine and broke it. Luckily spares are available.

You need to get underneath and have a look and you'll see the catch at the back. Loads of wd40 and you'll eventually be able to push it out with a screwdriver.

You'll then need to clean up the removable tow ball / receptacle etc to get it working properly again.

The Leather Doctor sells on ebay - exact colour match and kit will clear that up with minimal effort.

would you mind sending a link to the leather doctor on E-bay? I've looked but can only find leather treatment moisturiser etc, not different colours etc.
also a question for everyone were can I find my build sheet? I've looked at Topix with no success
as always any help much appreciated

Your interior colour looks the same as mine & is listed as Jet / Charcoal (TCX). Loads of kits on ebay just make sure that you have tinters with it, as I had to add a load of black to match my colour.

Speak to Stacie in the land rover customer relations section on here and she will be able to provide you with a build sheet

well had a go at the tow bar, no luck, couldn't see a catch at the back as suggested so tried to undo the bolts only to find the bolt head was starting to turn but no bolt movement so stopped instead of shearing it off!

Highroller my interior is Jet/Charcoal as suggested by the build sheet, still need to find some sort of restoration kit though.

Anyway decided to have a go at the Engine bay it was a bit dirty pics below, probably took about an hour and a half

If I remember tomorrow, I'll get my tow ball out of the boot and show you what I'm on about.

Thanks Highroller

just a bucket of hot water / car shampoo and a sponge, sponge was quite wet, but didn't splash to much water about of course because of the electrics, wiped off the worse dirty drips / smears, then used a damp clean cloth in clean water, it dried pretty quick in the heat last Saturday, then used the famous Back-to-Black with another clean cloth, just need to keep it topped up now, and perhaps get a bit more detailed in some of the harder to reach areas, with something like a toothbrush yes I know what a Banging Head you cant see from the photos but I also did under the bonnet, and the tops of the front wings, on the outside, if you fancy having a go, the seams are quite sharp, and shredded the sponge quite a bit.

Paul in your own time of course, but photos would certainly help, so many thanks for that

regards

These guys do specific kits for RR colours, so matching shouldn’t be a problem
