Seriously, for your budget you are going to get a decent one and still be in a Range Rover.
Sorry sir but its a Land Rover not a Range Rover.

Although it does have a very large RANGE ROVER badge at either end...

There is also an oval badge on it with the name of the company that made it, Land Rover.

But all of the cars that are sold as Range Rovers have those - even the proper ones. So, they must all be Land Rovers (and not Range Rovers) I suppose Rolling Eyes

You do realise that ALL Range Rover vehicles are built by land Rover even the full fat?

Unless your badges have been removed and replaced by overfinch or such they all have the oval land rover badge.

+1 for the Jag XF-S 3.0. I had the Portfolio and it was a fantastic car. Did 40MPG too. Or if you want the high driving position how about an F Pace.
I only sold the Jag as I now live half way up a mountain and the tyres were getting wrecked. A fatgy was the obvious choice and the ride is very similar.

Thats my point, I drive a Land Rover the model just happens to be a Range Rover and thats the way I like it.

I don’t understand your original point about the Evoque.

To me the Evoque is a model in its own right as the Discovery and Freelander are and should have been launched as such, by all account its not a bad car the guy that bought my p38 nanocom off me said his wife has one and thinks its great but he would rather drive his p38 range rover. Thats just my opinion, I think it should have been launched as the Land Rover Evoque to keep the Land Rover name alive.

LR make them, LR can name them whatever they want. I don't see why that would be an issue for anyone. You pays your money etc.
As for the OP's question. I drove an XC60 recently and was pretty much disappointed in the autonomy taking over when you least expected it. Scared the bejayzus out of me on a couple of occasions as it thought a car in the lane next to me on a curve was actually in front of me. An unexpected emergency stop then ensued. I was a D3/4 owner for 12 years and if you haven't had one, they are truly awesome!! The Swiss Army penknife of cars.

I’m going to get into loads of trouble here...

A Kia.... 7 years warranty

Also a Shang Yong ...lots of car not so much money. I noticed the car at the tunnell , looked good, never heard of it so looked it up...then chickened out having considered having a new one of these every year instead of FFRR -

I guess their value drops like a stone after one or two years, so bargains to be had. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

A Kia 7 year warranty, a warranty that also expires at 100,000 miles.

If the mileage were unlimited like, say, Land Rover’s is, then it would indeed be impressive. Even more impressive if some items weren’t limited to 3 years’ cover and if they didn’t “reserve the right” to use remanufactured replacement parts within the entire warranty period. I can just hear the uproar here if Land Rover were to fit a “remanufactured” engine or gearbox into, say, a two year old car!

Don’t get me wrong, for a low mileage driver it’s a great warranty; it’s just that we normally only ever get to read/hear the “7 year” bit! Rolling Eyes

I would also consider a 2015 merc E class estate or even a 2012 S class.

I test drove a CLS350 shootingbrake, nice dash, hated the seats, poor ride on poor roads and noisy. Oh and did I meantion for an estate it had a useless boot the Jag won me over on everything apart from the dash which is a bit dated.

Wales 2003 Range Rover SE Td6 Zambezi Silver

Guys/gals. Thanks for all the comments. I have read all the comments with interest. I am now thinking of going for a saloon. My wife has a Rav 4 (don't laugh-so we have a 4x4 in the family). I am thinking of going for a Mercedes C class. There is no real logic to having 2 4x4 and my FF is getting rather old, so probably best to get rid while it is still sellable. having said that, I have been looking at a few Landrover's, so nothing is decided. It is difficult to get rid of a green oval badge. Its a hard decision. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
