Possible gearbox issue??

Recently purchased a 3.6 tdv8 l322 on a 2007 plate and noticed sometimes when im driving along steadily accelerating maybe 40-60mph, the revs increase upwards of 2k rpm and seem to rise in 200 ish rpm blocks, car still pulls ok and no juddering or shuddering.. i do however know i have a split in the inlet manifold but the parts are currently on back order so will be glueing it in the mean time.. no codes in transmission or engine unless im accelerating gently up a hill and engine system fault appears which is map sensor a correlation fault (boost leak) any body had any similar issues with the way the revs increase? Thanks
