Mine had an unscheduled ride in a Big Yellow Taxi on Tuesday night and I’ve been in two cabs and a LR supplied Disco 5 since then

It started as the yellow engine light of doom, followed shortly after by the red triangle of despair! It’s currently in LR sick bay where they’ve been attempting diagnosis today...

It’s hard to believe that D5 is a close relative of the L405. I’m grateful for the loaner but, if I’d just spent £70,000 on this, I’d be a very unhappy bunny ☹️

One of the fault codes related to the “turbo actuator”, which may just be a faulty switch, or maybe more...

I’ve already put 200 miles on the D5, with another 150 tomorrow, so I don’t mind if they’ve got it for a few weeks as every mile I do in their car is saving me 24p in excess mileage charges on mine!

A don’t half miss the V8 though.

I’m a bit confused Red Merle, one minute you’re saying RR failure is fine because they kindly let you buy a new expensive one, then you complain that your car is broken. I don’t mean to be rude, but you guys are like drug addicts who forgive your dealer for anything! I wish you all happy outcomes but JLR’s willingness to charge £75k plus without testing their cars properly will return to haunt them in the future.

It was only some oil contamination on a sensor in the end. It’s cleaned up, sealed and LR are in the process of proving a revised sensor cable to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Here’s hoping that you can get your issues sorted too

just got off the phone to the dealer, car is made on its way to them, they take delivery next week and will be ready to hand over on the 12th October,
both happy and nervous once again.
