Rear seat electrics

Hi All,

I've got a 2010 S/C AB, and have just had deployable side steps fitted.. which are fantastic, but since fitting, my rear seat electrics don't work.

I've got the electric adjustable rear seats with heating/cooling etc. And now none of it works (and it all did previously). I've checked all the fuses, and they look fine.

I know as part of the deployable step fitting you have to remove a main connector off the fuseboard and add a new cable, so I'm wondering if the garage have dislodged the power feed to the rear seats.

Any ideas? Does anyone know exactly which fuse and/or pins are related to the rear seat electrics?

I'm working on the assumption that there's no coding or anything that could need to be reset to enable the rear seat functionality?

Any help gratefully received.

Jon

unfortunately, I'd already tried that.

But your post made me re-check, and while I was out there, I pulled and refitted all the fuses that related to the seats, and bingo ! it now works Smile

I can't believe any of them weren't connected, as they were all tightly fitted, and there's no corrosion or anything. Ican only assume cutting and reinstating the power has reset something.

Has cheered me right up, might even give her a wash!

Cheers

I must admit, I bought them as I thought they'd look good, but in reality they are really useful. And so much better looking that the fixed steps.

Thinking of fitting these for Mrs rjff who has difficulty getting in/out. Would you mind telling me how much and where you got them fitted?

PM if preferred

Richard

Hi,

I got a local garage to fit mine. I'm near Gatwick.

Book time (on the LR instructions) is 2 hours.

I (helpfully I thought) had printed out the instructions from the wiki for the garage to have a look at ahead of the job. Unfortunately this actually was counter productive as the wiki ones, were from a slightly different model, with a different plug on the loom, which caused considerable confusion.
Using/reading the instructions that came with the steps cleared up the issue, but he lost some time on that.

So on the whole, mine took about 4 hours to fit, which is in the £250 region. I was happy enough with that.

Removing the fuses and reinstalling is the same as performing a battery reset sir...

So, what probably happened is your rear seat module went into a distressed mode (neither on nor off) and a battery reset forces all ECU's to reset... Thumbs Up

To be absolutely sure no other ECU's are effected, i would do a full battery reset when you have the spare time sir Thumbs Up

thanks for that craig.

I'm new to RR ownership. From what i can find, the battery reset is:

leave it unlocked for 5-10 mins or so, so everything shuts down.
disconnect the battery. (earth first)
short the battery leads.
reconnect battery. (earth last)

Is that right?

Cheers
