Get 12v accessory to switch off with ignition

Hi all

I am sure this must be covered somewhere but I cannot find it in a search. I would like my accessory socket to turn off with the ignition. I used to have an old Mondeo and you could reposition a fuse to switch off with the ignition if you wanted. Is there anything that simple on the Rangey?

If this is covered in another post, a link would be great.

Thanks
Steve

Which accessory socket in particular? This might help you.

The car is a 2004 and the accessory socket in the centre console in the front.

those instructions were spot on
you could also just add a fuse tap to the front fuse box, easy to buy off eBay
you need full sized blade fuse type
its what we do on later cars it means original circuit is protected by its fuse while allowing you to take a second fused take off.

Then you have an L322, not an L405. This section of the forum is for the L405.

Mine is also a 2004MY L322 and I was complaining to myself this morning that it's bloody annoying that the accessory sockets turn off with the ignition and don't stay on when the switch is in the Accessory position. Ron B. VK2OTC

Oh crap. Apologies, if only I could read. Yes it is an L322 and it is annoying. I like the Mondeo idea where there are 3 slots for the fuse. In the upper position it stays live in the lower position it goes off with ignition. Really hoped there would be something similar for the Range.

It's odd that yours has the reverse configuration to mine. Wanna swap? Very Happy Ron B. VK2OTC
