Deployable steps

Have I missed something regarding the switch location?

Trying to follow some recent posts about a retrofit -- but where does the switch go? especially when you have a sunroof?

pop a blank out on the interior light/sunroof panel, insert a peice of plastic trim and then the switch pushes into that.

Pic below might be opposite way round I just pulled it off google.

Thanks for the reply Stan -- I should have said -- I have a microphone fitted the other side of the sunroof switch -- well at least I think I do -- I haven't actually removed it to check that's where the microphone is!!!

Sorry don't have a picture at the moment!

On my panel the microphone is fitted between the sun roof switch and blank on the other side of the little sub panel. The slots in this little panel between the switches are for the microphone. The blank switch on mine had slots in it but nothing fitted behind it. If you take the whole panel out, 2 screws inside the sunglasses cubby hole, all should be revealed.

Just an update on this for anyone looking later: -


Microphone position on 2004 plate was in the black grilled switch cover on the right side of the front light console.

The same switch cover exists in my 2011 plate -- but the microphone has moved! indeed it is now behind another grille in the centre of the same overall cover!! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
