Not fresh news, but an interesting article in Autocar...

It's a sad day for those of us that want their Range Rovers in a subtle and classic green. The Queen included!

None too happy following the crisis news from Solihull's paintshop:

Australia 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

I recently talked with a chap who used to work for JLR Australia. For his company car he could have any colour except green. He was told they were too hard to sell on after they were returned. Ron B. VK2OTC

There are some funny attitudes towards it in the trade.

I sold my last D4 through the trade. One trader didn’t want to know, purely down to the colour, while the second trader couldn't see the problem, gave me a good price and he sold it nearly straight away for their full asking price - to someone who would only buy a green one and was prepared to travel many miles to get it! Thumbs Up

I think that if a vendor decides that green ones will be difficult to sell, then it’ll probably be a self fulfilling prophecy Wink

Heard the same dealer comments - “Green with brown seats? We’ll have to send in to the auction etc...”. Never seems to ultimately stop a deal though.

Not offering green is an indication of what they think of their traditional customers.

Just to clarify, green is still available but it's just not part of the standard colour options.

Land Rover no longer offers Aintree Green as a standard colour option for its range of vehicles.

There are greens but they all come at an additional cost.

...Spectral British Racing Green ChromaFlair Gloss finish, a special order colour for the Range Rover. You will, however, be charged a rather fulsome £6120. A British Racing Green is also offered, for £3570.

So all's not lost, green lovers! Just takes a few extra coins, that's all!

“A few extra coins” being £3,570 to get to the first level of green!

£3,570 to order a car in the nearest approximation of its traditional colour is hardly good news.

Also don’t much like the BRG in the sun.
