Gearbox or Torque converter... ?

Rattling noise occurred yesterday coming from g/box area. Went into failsafe mode when got hot. Let it cool down, got me home alright, and shifted through all gears, (GM box).

Appears to rattle when stationary, and disappears when pull away or put in neutral/park.
