Very glad to say I had a reply from LR to my email which is good news. The chap apologised for the things that I mentioned and is passing my email along the line,and so at least they will have some inkling of what is going on (if they didn't before).

Red Merle, to make the website "UK user-friendly" would cost peanuts.

Don't really know to be honest MJ, but if it did some good then great.

I owned a business for 35 years till we sold last November and I know one thing...if we had a tiny iota of the complaints that LR seem to get I would make sure something was done about it! They are brilliant cars, spoiled at times by stupid niggles which should have been foreseen, Infotainment for example. Niggles which at the very least should be attended to pronto by decent dealerships.

The best LR dealer near us by far (a relatively small concern) dropped the LR brand because it was told it had to spend over £150k (10 years ago!) to bring the showroom "up to what LR expected". The showroom was spotless and the company very, very good, could not be better. Needless to say they said they couldn't afford to do it, They are now Izuzu main dealers, but kept the LR servicing franchise, but what a waste!!!

Sums up the priorities, wouldn't you say?

Finally collected the car on Tuesday after going up there on Thursday to be told the couldn't register the car as the system was down, to be fair they did ring me and I decided to make the journey just in case the system was back up and running.
Carr looks great.
BUT
annoying dash rattle on passenger side, it has drove me crazy.
and guess what
yes you guessed it
the infotainment system froze on the way home from Wales yesterday.
couldn't get the radio to work at all, it said it was working but couldn't change the station, band or adjust the volume on either steering wheel or on the system itself, I even tried stopping the car, switching it off and restarting, absolutely mind blowing. The radio finally restarted itself after we had stopped off somewhere for tea.
Why can't they get it right first time
really peed off now.
god i hate complaining,
LR will hate me but i am in no mood for compromising i am afraid, 100% or they can have it back.

That's a real shame, I'm sorry to hear this. Send it straight back for a FULL refund then get yourself one of the last few MY17 cars still available, at least they are proven now and most gremlins ironed out.
Mine's been good for 9k miles so far apart from a squawking reversing sensor in the mornings.

well as week on, some good news, the infotainment system has been behaving itself
The noise in the dash is still there though, driving me potty.
Spoke to the service manager yesterday who is organising getting the car back to them to sort it.
Lets hope i can get back to feeling positive about the cars instead of thinking what is going to happen next Banging Head Banging Head

occasionally I get the radio freeze a stop and car lock sorts it out.
Another tip if the car is not be used for a couple of days get a trickle charger on it.

That's at least some good news SR!! Mine's gone in this afternoon for the 18C update and Apple Carplay, hopefully that'll sort the infotainment out which is my only problem with the car.

Not a RR but another JLR product. Chap at work has an 18 month old Jaguar XJ (Diesel), he's off on holiday to the USA on Saturday from Heathrow and is driving down from Cheshire early Saturday morning.

He picked the car up from a main JLR dealer on Tuesday following a service, and this morning it took him 5 attempts to start the car, he was concerned that it would let him down on Saturday going to the airport.

He phoned the Dealers to be told that he had to ring Jaguar Assist to get someone out today to find out what the issue is!!

Jaguar Assist duly come out, download some new software update then tell him that when he starts it in the morning to press the start button a few times without foot on brake, then Start button with foot on brake to start it up, this method ensures that the injectors (or whatever!) have time to 'warm up'!!!!

When I had some software issues with 17MY I too was advised to press the start button (only once though) and then wait with pressing starter button with foot on brake pedal until prompted to do so by the screen. This mirrors what I do with my motorcycle, where turning the key powers up the system and then one presses the starter once that has happened (in particular there it is to allow the fuel system to pressure up). It sort of made sense to me that one might 'confuse' the system by asking it to do too much at once, so I have followed that routine in the car, even though I never used to do that and it should work without. So far it so good. Only Range Rovers since 1988

update on my car.
going back on a transporter on Monday to resolve the issues i currently have.
can't fault the dealer on this in any way shape or form,
lets hope this is the last negative post i write, well here's to wishful thinking anyway
