I had a call yesterday morning from the Manager of the Body shop who is based in the service dept building of the Dealership. She called me on her mobile from home early in the morning to apologise for the delay but the car now had to go through the repaint process from the beginning and hoped I'd be ok with that. I explained I'd been two weeks without a car and she immediately offered me a loaner (Merc A Class Auto) which I declined, she also offered to get my car back to me so I could take my old Mum out. I explained that I'm away on a holiday at the end of next week so didn't want to do anything to slow the process down. She said she would get all the team on it to ensure it was all done for me for the following Friday. Three weeks without my FF seems a bit much but I can't tell you how much better I felt after the call. Now why can't LR do something like that? It didn't cost anything but ten minutes of her time, I felt assured and she won't spend twenty minutes calming me down around the middle of next week.

Might I suggest making sure the dealer principle and the manager in question are made aware of how good it was to get a call to update you.....if you haven't already?

This kind of feedback will encourage the dealership personnel and hopefully drive up the customer satisfaction with the service department.

Can I still reject the car after three months of ownership?
I feel they are just ignoring me tbh. I think I’ll get some legal advice and see if I can stuff them with it.

I’ve already spoken to your team Chand and the dealership has agreed to get an LR Approved body shop to sort. The body shop have been keeping me up to date and should at last have my car back just as it should have been in the first place on Friday.
Many thanks for your offer of help. Thumbs Up

Just received an update from the body shop stating the car is all prepped and ready for paint. It should go into the paint bay tomorrow and then out for polishing on Thursday. That means it's been out of my hands for three weeks to get this paint sorted. I suppose I should be happy that after 16 weeks of which almost 6 have been in the dealership, I'll have the car I originally wanted on Friday. Just in time to drive down to the West country to enjoy a holiday with the family.
Thumbs Up Very Happy

I received another update this morning to say the car should be through quality control either late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I checked my App and the car was taken for a run around the block and I've watched it open doors and close them, then the boot so I hope they're giving it a good clean before they call me to collect. They've had it between the service dept who swapped my tow bar and the body shop who sorted (I hope) the paintwork issues, for just shy of three weeks. I can't even begin to explain how utterly bereft I've felt without it.
Please be tonight!

Picked it up this morning and it looks amazing. So good to be back in it rather than the wife’s Fiat 500 or the sons Fiat Grande Punto. The daughters C-Max was a good little car for shipping the boys around on my Wednesday nights out. None of them were of the grand scale of enjoyment the FF brings and reminds me how lucky I am. Off to the West Country tomorrow morning and the weather looks great. Thumbs Up
