If this sort of lag is an issue, a FFRR is probably not the right vehicle IMHO. BMW i3 Electric Car

Its not so much about driving about like that all the time, its just something thats more noticeable when you need it. For example wanting to make a gap such as pulling onto busy roundabout ... you know that there is a sufficient gap and want to get upto speed quickly ... plant the throttle and it just dies / pauses for that half second ... you plant it a bit more and then it launches away.

Leaves the driver with that feeling of the vehicle not performing just right when you need it. V8 or else ...
