United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover SE 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Hi all. Just got a 2005 Vogue 4.2 with 90k miles.. It has developed a misfire on No1 cylinder, and I also have a silent radio to fix, but this seems quite common. I like tinkering so should keep me busy!

United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover SVAutobiography SDV8 Scotia Grey

Hi all,

I am Charles I recently bought an L405 SV Autobiography after 10 years of Audi ownership it was time for a change, I am hoping the RR community will be just as enjoyable and informative as others I am familiar with. I have a poorly RR at the moment it's currently poring oil down the back of the engine, it was recently serviced and never burnt or leaked oil prior to this. I have checked the oil filter housing and sump etc. I suspect it may be oil cooler from reading a thread on the L322.

Thank you in advance for any advice. It's a TDV8 by the way

Welcome Charles.

If the leak wasn't there before the service, it may well be overspill from the new oil going in or an incorrectly fitted filter housing.

The leaks from the turbo hose and oil cooler tend to be small but noticeable over time.

First thing to do is get the cover off and have a look under the pollen filter housing (at least on an L322 it is) Thumbs Up

Mike

PS it may be worth taking the car back to whomever serviced it and tell them they've caused a leak!

Greeting

Hi, please welcome a newbie.
20 years ago I restored a 1972 Range Rover and it runs beautifully to this day.
Having recently retired I decided to treat myself to another V8, this time, diesel.
Frighteningly complex in comparison but such torque!
Having been brought up on Motor Cycle and Car Mechanics magazines, I love reading the problems and solutions.
I guess once an engineer, always an engineer. Thumbs Up Forty years of progress. 1972-2012

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
Hello from Essex

Hi all,

Forum looks like an encyclopedia of useful knowledge on these cars. I used some buyer's guides I found on here through a google search before buying an '06 V8 SC in Bonatti Grey on Monday.

First impressions of the car are very good as I spent a good few hours going over it before doing the deal - there's so much kit to check it took forever! It is not without a few niggles of course, so I look forward to addressing those now and getting everything tip top.

Nice to meet you all,
Parallel

United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Buckingham Blue

Hi Guys.
I'm a recent owner of a 2004 L322 TD6 Vogue. Decided after owning two Defenders I needed a bit of luxury. Still learning all the peculiarities of the beast. Hoping to take it to Spain in January!!

England 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Hi all, became the owner of a L405 SDV8 Autobiography three weeks ago. Have had two L322s previously and my wife acquired a 3.0DSE Velar in May. Really enjoying both cars, although only started driving again today after a two week lay off following my second lumbar spine surgery in three years. Indeed, the latest FFRR was prompted by my neurosurgeon recommending the tallest and comfiest SUV I could buy to replace my Maserati GranCabrio. Couple of photos below:
