Suffered same problem last night after wipers had been running non stop for 3 hours. However, back wiper/ wash still worked and that is controlled via same relay ?

Its just happened to mine - exactly the same symptoms - rear wiper is working ok but no fronts in any speed .
Removed the battery , unplugged the relay and sure enough there was a bit of the relay contacts floating in the bottom Smile
I plugged it back in and touched the contacts together with a screwdriver an they started working again - till I break the contacts again -
Brilliant Help - many thanks Very Happy

I can confirm that, on my 2006 TDV6 Range Rover, replacing the relay solved the dead wipers problem. It is in the box behind the battery. I found a BMW relay, code 61.36-8 384 505 (it's the same make and model as the old one) for 15EUR. The old relay seemed to be OK though, no rust or loose parts... Thank you very much RRPhil for your invaluable help!

I had this issue today, and my diagnostic would show a missing park signal. Stripped out the motor and checked the switch all good. But after a fair bit of pondering worked out the issue. The signal to the switch is fed via the earth return which is picked up by the tiny lug on the plastic form on the cover, this is connected to the switch, I found that the contact was non existent due to it only being a touch contact, so i put a small blob of solder on the main plate and reassembled and it started working fine. I have circled the two parts in the pictures...

I had the issue a couple of years ago, and needed a new wiper motor. Looks like you have got to the bottom of that then.

Just to note, later models don't have this relay behind the battery.
Mine's a September 2011 (2012my) Cam-Tech-Craig just fixed it, had same problems parking half way up screen then cutting out. Needed a new motor in the end and all working fine again.

Thanks to Craig for excellent service Thumbs Up

You could fix your old one with a switch from RS for £2.60
