I had a LWB Sprinter from new and used 2t oil from about 10,000 miles on. Im not sure how it would be in a modern engine or indeed any benefits. I sold it with 417,000 on the clock, the engine never missed a beat and was completely untouched other than oil changes etc, there were no leaks and it didnt use any oil. It was still on the original clutch. The bodywork however was failing badly in places but it's still on the road and still running. The last 150,000 I ran it on bio diesel (made at home using a bio buddy), fuel cost me about 8p per litre. BMW i3 Electric Car

I don’t think that a one off experimental half a litre of 2 Stroke will do the engine any harm?

Try it and see if you notice a difference. I know that some of 5he guys over on the Diso forum swear by it anduse 2 Stroke on a very regular basis.

Always difficult when its anecdotal evidence, placebo effects etc. If you think it works and you want to use it why not? The actual evidence though shows it does more harm than good. I did read up quite a lot when I got my Touareg, I was going to use it on that in the same way as the Sprinter, the evidence however suggested I masy not be doing good so I stopped using it, my Rangie isnt getting either.

Could you treat it to the expensive brands of Diesel (V-Power etc..) every now and again or on every fill up. I haven't worked out the cost of the extra pence on fuel & 2 stroke or and additive?.

Steve.

I re-fill mine when I get just below half tank, and for the last 5 fills have added Millers (50cl) .
I honestly can’t tell any difference to the way it runs but will carry on using it until the bottle is empty before I re-think.
I have done at least one 120 mile motorway trip each week but more than usual short distance shopping trips etc and overall my DPF soot levels have been pretty low, 8.1g this morning.

Greg, are you having amber light (DPF) on with the same frequency as before You changed sensor?
And for your question - my car is Euro 5 compliant so it is with DPF.

Thanks Nino, yes I thought yours has a DPF.

Yes I am getting the yellow light to the same frequency as before, after the big job of changing the sensor. Actually I try to catch it before the yellow light appears because it can go to RED very quickly from Yellow.

It might be just down to my non-motorway driving and short journeys.

. Cheers, Greg
