Seen any battery deals?

My wife's Toyota battery has been pronounced dead.

Found the invoice was a Varta, lasted just under five and a half years. I suppose not bad.

Anyone seen any offers, codes etc out there?

Cheers!

. Cheers, Greg

Get yourself a trade card from Halfrauds, brilliant, good discounts inc batteries, I got £45 discount on a £180 battery.

GSF and Eurocarparts are also doing discounts with their codes at the minute. BMW i3 Electric Car

I always find the best selection and prices at tayna.co.uk .

Just had to stick a new Bosch s5 on the Td6 today asap, had to go to ecp £162 with their discount code. Previous S5 was nearly 4yrs old, dead as dodo after charging wouldn’t turn over.
New battery in started straight away plus no “HDC INACTIVE” so all good.

Thank chaps.

I went with Tayna. Best price I could find. Got a Varta with a 4-year warranty.

Problem with ECP or GSF is their list prices are astronomical to begin with. So a 45% or whatever discount sounds good, but does not really compute.

I also find their websites pre-filter everything based on your car. Which isn't always right.

Eg I want to go from an AGM 019 battery to an AGM 020 battery for the Range Rover, but their websites won't show anything they think won't go on your car. Granted that's well intended - the 020 needs it's based plastic trimmed to fit.

But I can't do a product only search easily. And their list prices are just a turn off.

. Cheers, Greg

I find that sometimes if you type in 019 battery it will take you to the right place.. but seems a bit variable!

Just got a Bosch for my partner's Clio from ECP.. with the discount at the time it was £3 more than Tayna, but as local to a shop it was delivered within an hour for free! With Tayna it was another £8? for delivery!

Also if you need to return, ECP are easy to get to and generally just say 'OK we will exchange it' With Tayna it is never that easy.. need to return it, wait for them to test, then see if they accept it is dead.. I need the car back on the road not waiting on the drive for a battery!

However if you have no problems, Tayna are OK!

What he posted.

Tayna good if all goes well but if the battery fails ( mine did first time ever buying from them) watch out for the warranty it aint worth much as its quite hard to find a courier to take it back to them.
I just ended up writing the battery off after only 16 months

Greg,

an 020 won't fit in your machine -- well not without disconnecting or rerouting the scuttle drain!

I know, I tried! -- the large connector on the side of the battery +ve terminal simply doesn't fit :O
