20" Alloy Wheel Refurb - Before & After Pics

Just had my 20" alloys refurbished by these people, so thought I'd share the details of the company if thery're of use to anyone else on here:

http://www.lap-tab.co.uk/alloywheels.php

Excellent service and a top quality job (I'm not linked with them in any way). Definitely worth considering this place if anyone else needs theirs refurbed.

I went for their 'Black Chrome' finish which looks great in the flesh - a black power coat finish with thin layers of silver sprayed on the face to build up a graduated 'smoked' look. Doesn't really come out in the pictures, but I'm really pleased with the finish - not too bling but just a little bit different.

For info it worked out just under £390 including painting the centre caps to match.

Here's some before and after pictures:

My other half is banned from driving mine, curbed the wheels on both my previous RRS's

Wheels look great BTW Thumbs Up , how do the curbed parts look after refurb, always wondered how they would clean up Question Gerry

I've seen wheels that have been to Laptab and have to say, they weren't brilliant. They never used to prep them, so any imperfections, scuffs etc were still there, under the new finish.

From those pics, it looks like they've got their act together though. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

they look very good

one company i can recommend is Pristine Wheels

jeep wheels are notoriously poor but very expensive - suffer from peeling/blistering of lacquer

other companies paint to refurb but Pristine were the only ones who offered to diamond cut and re lacquer (as OEM)

cost for three wheels and painting of plastic centre caps was £217.38 in June 08 - inc delivery and collection

the three refurbed wheels are still as new - the remaining factory wheel (bought new at the same time) is average!

sorry to hijack the op's thread but wheel refurb can be a nightmare

Maybe I should have asked on here before I got them done! Embarassed

To be honest though, the finish is hard to fault - looks like they've been prepped very well and the scuff marks have completely disappeared - I can't even tell where they were before, and I'm usually quite a fussy b*gger for details like this.

Time will tell I guess. Will be interesting to see how they fare after another salty winter... 2013 Range Rover Evoque Coupe
