United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Td6 Vogue Auto Tonga Green
Anyone driven the TDV6 Disco 3 for any length of time?

I had one fo these for less than a day when I had my Supercharged Sport, but back then, all I cared about was the supercharged petrol performance.

Since getting the TD6 Vogue my appreciation of Diesel motoring has grown. this is my first diesel and I have enjoyed the longer legs it affords me and not worrying about the fuel gauge dropping before my eyes.

However, my car has reached it's 3 years, the warranty has just expired and my mind wanders to trading it in for something else. I always look to save money when I trade (apart from when I bought the Supercharged Sport clearly) so I was looking into getting a nearly new Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE. The top spec has loads of things my Sport didn't at the time and the interior is almost the same. however, it's a big step away from the Range Rover in many ways.

Has anyone here with a FFRR had one or driven one for more than a day and can give me an appraisal of the differences of the two cars? I know them on paper, but need to hear real life experiences.

Thanks for any input.

2007 Range Rover Supercharged Vogue SE Auto Cairns Blue

I've had a number of Disco TDV6s for periods upto about a month at a time whist I was having "serious issues" with my old lemon FFRR Supercharged! Rolling Eyes

I must say, as an everyday vehicle, they're pretty hard to beat. Adequate, refined performance and handles brilliantly for such a heavy car (far superior to the lighter FFRR TD6 Whistle ) and alot more practical, especially with the 7 seat arrangement.

Although not to most peoples tastes, I got on better with thee manual transmission than the auto....It just felt alot more lively. The auto always seemed to be in the wrong gear.

The only significant downside that I can see is that it doesnt give the same sense of occasion you get when driving a FFRR Bow down

That's also my main bone of contention.

It's NOT a Range Rover! Cool

I have, certainly a case of 'over-information' there I feel!
