thule bike carrier and tow bar, now with pics.

Anyone have experience of using a thule bike carrier (the tow bar mounted tilting option)?

At the minute i have no towbar or associated electrics fitted, so recommendations welcome for that also Thumbs Up

A forum search suggested PFJones, so i will give them a call.
apart from the armature, electronics and the bike rack, do i need anything else? Gerry

I'm about to do the same. Looked at all the options and decided to install LR parts. New armature from Duckworth Land Rover (£260.00), LR Multi height towing hitch from ebay (£61.00 - bargain). 13 Pin electrics plus ECU from Towequipe or FamourFour.

I will install myself and buy a Thule 9403 carrier for 3 bikes from Halfords which includes tail board and lights.

I found these options to be the best value IMO.

I have heard that the option from PF Jones is good, but I just prefer OEM kit. Current MY2020

The armature from PF Jones IS OEM Thumbs Up

When I installed an armature from them, with electics from flea bay I did NOT need to go to the stealer Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Might be there electics that means a trip to the stealer, or find an Indie Whistle

Apparently the PFJones kit is same as OEM (Westfalia?)

did you find out from dealer the cost of the download/activation?

I ended up going with the thule 929 carrier (lightweight aluminium + 4 bike adapter, approx)

The Strada looks the dogs nuts, I like the way it pulls put like a drawer to access the boot and aids fitting.

Does anyone have any other tow bar fitting bike carriers? Current MY2020

If I had to choose, it would be the Westfalia Portilo.

http://www.pfjones.co.uk/westfalia-portilo...rrier.html

It can be specified with an optional box or tray, allowing you to use it to extend your boot space. Also, it folds up into a teeny thing. Well thought out, IMHO. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

Very impressed with this rack, think it works well with the car also.
The foot pedal tilt mechanism is ideal for upper and lower tailgate.
The rear camera actually has a use now Thumbs Up
LED lights are a good fit with the tail lights. ANd the electrics work perfectly with no software download (even get the trailer indicator displayed on the TFT screen when indicating.

Some pics,
