I believe the lighter sockets are both fed from the same fuse, they are not designed to be used for anything other than the cigarette lighter. If your front socket is working but rear not, then perhaps someone plugged something other than the lighter into it and it/the wiring is damaged?

They're on a pair of 20 amp regular fuses on my 2007 VSE. main one and one of the rears is on one fuse and the on iside the cubby plus the other in the back of the console is on the other. Boot socket is on its own fuse. Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

May be a daft question. Have you tried the lighter from the front in the rear socket? Sometimes lighter itself plug actually fails. Td6 SE

Sadly all of the front & rear fuses are fine - so a cubby box stripdown is scheduled for this weekend ... |
