Airbag warning light

The airbag warning light occasionally lights up. Sometimes it will come on during a journey, if I stop for a short time it is usually off when I restart. Most of the time the light is not on but now and then it comes on. The light on my old Discovery was on permanently for 3 years so I am not overly concerned by this. But I am wondering if this is something I should really worry about. There are quite a few bags in my car, I don't think any are in danger of going off on their own! But maybe I am being too cavalier about this Shocked

Any thoughts? Td6 SE

i think when the light comes on the airbag system is disabled. so not the best in a crash. I'm not sure if ALL are disabled or just the one causing the fault. Confused 04, 4.4V8, Vogue Oslo Blue with LPG.

If something can't be fixed with a hammer....... You have yourself an electrical fault!

I believe a lit airbag warning lamp is about to be an MOT failure - if it's not already.

The fact that yours is intermittent is interesting, as I had thought that any transient airbag fault would disable the system until the dealer re-enables it. Is there anyone local who can pull the fault code for you to to help diagnose the actual problem, if not it may be time for a trip to the dealers.

mine did the same , intermittent on/off...found out it was the passenger side occupancy sensor under the seat cushion...the wife jiggled her bum on the seat and the light flickered on and off...

Come to think of it I don't recall it ever doing it when I was driving on my own, but I may be wrong. Do you remember how muchit cost to diagnose and get repaired? Td6 SE
