| 2005 onwards vogue what to look out for? | |
Hi im after sum much needed help on what to look for when buying a RR vogue.
Ive spoke to a few people within the last year who advised to go for a 2005 onwards as thats the facelift model and certain problems were adressed......is there truth in this?
Also checks to make and what to test etc.And is warrenty really needed?
Lastly in this current climate what kind of money would you expect to get a decent facelift model for?
Many thanks.

Hi Baba -
I've had my FF - 2005 Td6 Vogue - for a year now, with very few issues. The only probs I've had have been new battery and slight suspension fault, both easy fixes.
Having said that, I searched long and hard for the right car. Mine was a one owner car with 75k & FLRSH. Some may doubt the "FLRSH" kudos, but it's very easy to check with the dealer what servicing and warranty work has been carried out. This included the front diff modification.
I can't vouch for the differences between the pre and post 2005 models, but mechanically there can't be a great deal between them ? For me, it was a personal choice as I preferred the facelift styling, but also wanted the reversing camera - a godsend.
We've just 2600 miles round Europe with all sorts of driving. The car returned 28 mpg all the time with the a/c on and was brilliant.
If you get a car (pre or post 2005) with a verifiable history (LR or not) that all the questions can be answered, you will not regret it -
Cheers
PS Ref the warranty, I couldn't afford a "big" break on the car. I've had Warranty Direct cover for the last year, but haven't claimed. My car is probably getting to a mileage where the gearbox has issues, so I'll be renewing it ! Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Yes i prefer the facelift styling more than anything else.
How much is the warrenty through them and does it cover all major parts?
