H7 Main Beam

I bought some H7's off eBay advertised as whiter than white - you know the sort of thing. However from any angle but straight on they are more orange than the ones i took out. the LED sidelights are on the other hand brilliant and look great.

It's clear all H7's are not created equal, I don't really need extra light the standard bi-xenons are fine but I understand LEDs are out because they aren't good at flashing - so to speak - which is pretty much all the main beams do.

There has been a lot of experimentation on here with lights and so before I buy some more expensive Osram or Philips blue ones I wonder if anyone on here CAN SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE MATTER Rolling with laughter Geoff

somebody on here [daveo ? ] was going to fit h7 hid's into the main beam ..these hid's were supposed to be a quick start type so you could flash with them and also get the added proper beam output when on main..

trouble is that the main only outputs 10 volts [on mine] so normal halogens dont get the full whack.. ... - .- -.

hi yes, i have fitted the 5000k xenon h7 to my mains on my test lamp and they work very well, you get about 1 sec flash at 90% brightness and if you keep it on it dims and charges the pack up again to 100%, so yes it works just fine as long as you do a quick flash, but when on full they are very bright and throws the light out well.
just working on how to clip the bulb in properly as our lamps dont have the lamp retaining clips.
but overal very happy with my new tri-xenons V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

You can always add some strobe lights to the headlights (or in the grille), no issues with starting and you can get all kinds of flashing patterns out of them !! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Probably should start a new thread for this but how does CANBUS react if 100W lights are fitted rather than 55W? Geoff

you'll burn the wiring out if used constantly, unless you put a relay in..... ... - .- -.
