Headliner drooping

Hi guys, little while ago I sat in the back coming back from the airport. After a bit, I felt that the roof was a bit close, the few hairs left on top of my head were just brushing up against the headliner. To my horror, by MY2006 also has the dreaded drooping liner that I hoped was a thing of the past (P38) but no, the back end of the liner is loose.

What do you reckon I can / should do. Can I inject glue through it and push it up ? Remove it and re-glue it ?? Replace it completely (not easy getting it delivered to Nigeria in one piece I guess ??).

Can you guys help me out ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Ideally you need to remove it and then reglue it to get it back as it should be with that spray on adhesive.

I guess the heat and possibly the humidity has caused it to finally fail Sad

@antoniasdad : this would make the RSE into a "drive-in cinema" Smile
@kingpleb : I am afraid that you are right re. heat/humidity and re-glueing it. Good thing about Lagos (and I guess a lot of third world places) that you can still find craftsmen as I would not trust myself to do a good job with this. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

geat it retrimmed in leather like an AB model while your at it as it will stop it from happening again if the stitching is used to hold it up Smile

To be honest, I have been following some of the leather headliner threads Smile Bit expensive though for "just a headliner". Would have preferred just replacing it with a new liner but unlikely to get it shipped to here and arrive undamaged. I guess that on my next leave, I will have this work done together with the gearbox flush/filter change. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Is it really glued up ? I know it may be glued to the trim strips around the edges, but at the tailgate I have a clip fixed to the roof and a clip fixed to the headlining. It's broken so not sure how it works, but I'm going to fix with some velcro strip to hold it up. So this got me thinking that there are more of these clips holding the headlining in place and up around the car. Worth investigating? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

@Joe, I think it is glued on the MY2006 but will have a good look. The way it is coming down indicates that it is glued, it is following the curve on all the edges by the looks of it. Will check though. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
