Not sure on the tailgate, but you should be able to use the ski hatch behind the rear arm rest to get access to the boot area if that helps.....

With those figures, I'd agree.

I'd think of the filter as more milage/usage based & not related to dilution issues requiring an earlier oil change.

Sorry, no idea - do you have a tester ? You could just check all the 30A fuses.....
