 Is cruise control 'economical'?

A thought sidled it's way into my semi-conciousness driving up the A34 this morning.... is it more or less economical to use cruise control as opposed to using your right foot?

Any ideas/experience ...

Bought loads of gear with the intent of using it on our XK (very soft paint) ,but then sold the car (together with the E-Class) to get the RR so never got to use any of the polishes, the machine etc. ...

stepper motor ?

If all 5 mentioned are, in fact, actually just 1 physical stepper motor, then, yup, I'd agree.

Or if these 5 are in series in a 'ring' so losing 1 loses all 5, I'd also agree.

Just had the RR in for it's first service 15k miles at 10months old - all ok except that the windscreen wipers are shot already and it would be £52 to replace them!

Seems to me to that that perform ...

My "lights are on but nothing happens" was apparently a "short in a motor under the seat' - whatever, it's fixed now.
