Quick question on the rubber mats - what dressing do you guys use to clean them up ? Dont want to use something that will make them slippy Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

I have used a range of things (no pun intended)

Usual regime: and if you're "in to detailing" I apologise as this may sound patronising.

1. Pressure wash
2. G101 @ 30:1 which is an all purpose cleaner so flash or similar could work too
3. sometimes this is all.

Once in a while I use something like either Meguiars Endurance Tyre gel and leave to dry for a while or Einszett Gummi Pflege which is already discussed on here for the rubber seals.

I also have just ordered Gtechniq C6 which I'll try next. EDIT: maybe Gtechniq T1 would be better?

Again sorry if any of that is overly patronising!

So, for those with both, the consensus seems to be, to have both in the car, one over the other..........

Is there any reason for this ?

I have removed the set I don't use, and stored it in the house.....

Any advantages to having both in the car that I'm missing ?

I had the rubber ones in the boot under the floor, they slot in nice round the spare wheel securing nut thing so take up no boot space

They came in handy a few times like when me and a mate went to a muddy breakers yard, saved the carpets from getting trashed.

makes the floor feel softer and more sumptuous, better sound insulation, easier to just pull one mat out from under the other as required rather than messing about going to look for the mats you want. Nice to use the rubber when shooting, then when out for dinner in the evening shake the rubbers and put the carpet on top, far nicer place to be - especially if the ladies are wearing heels - or if you want bare feet in the car
