52 RR Vogue TD6 hesitating when accelerating

My 52 RR has just started to hesitate/judder when accelerating.
Drives ok normally and revs ok out of gear when stationary, only happens under load.
Kickdown works fine, starts to accelerate then engine starts to misfire/judder/hesitate. All very rhythmic too.

Any ideas?

I'm no expert, but my first thought is fuel pump, or injectors. Does it happen only under hard acceleration?

It may be the high pressure pump. Does it make any difference how much fuel you have? Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Yes it's only under hard acceleration. Fuel level is irrelevant.

But. As mentioned out of gear and revved up to 4k no hesitation.

When did you last change your fuel filter?

Will check the paperwork later.

Presume nothing, especially where main dealers are concerned. Whistle Smile

Where us best place to get fuel filter? Is it a standard inline or a specific RR item?

Thanx RRUK. Just read your post. It's exactly same as nine. 3,000 rpm and the stuttering starts.
Saying that I drove it back from station and it was fine. Popped out again and it done it. Sounds like its not fully gone yet but will get the pump and filter. Where are they situated on car?

The fuel pump in question is external to the fuel tank on the chassis, therefore easier to swap out. There's an in line fuel filter I think but also a fuel sediment filter trap under the bonnet which is a £10 part you can swap yourself as I did when I gave the TD6 a service.

Had the exact same issue in the last month, low pressure fuel pump as previously mentioned.

Situation update: changed the fuel filter abd problem solved.
Car feels much more responsive too.
Looked like the fuel filter had been on for some time aswell.

Thanks for all the input guys.
