Out of interest has anyone changed the oil in front and rear diffs? The procedure is documented in RAVE but is not on the service sheet. I suspect it is classed as filled for a "lifetime" in other words the lifetime of the LR warranty!

Considering I had the oil changed in the gearbox a few months ago, it makes sense to change the final drive oils, I'll give them a go myself as it looks strait-forward.

RAVE says "use oil to spec 75w/90 API GL5" Dingocroft recommends this Comma oil which at under £25 inc p&p isn’t too bad I don’t think.

Any tips on how to get the oil up into the fill hole though? I've never changed diff oil myself, and on the classics/P38 there was room to pour in from the bottle.

ive changed them front and rear and transfer box the diff oils youll need 3 litres the rear requires just over a litre and the front requires about the same its fairly easy to do just a bit tight on space do give it a good run to warm the oils then drain away youll see the fill and drain plugs undo the fillplugs first just in case i got the oil from land rover its only about 10 pounds per litre if that and have fun  onto no6 Range Rover
