Changing Lights to drive on the Continent Pins?

Hi Guys, I am off to France later this week just prepping the RR, I saw a post a while back re the headlights and I can change the for Europe settings by some pins??

Well I have looked in the manual & under the bonnet & its not obvious can someone who has done it tell were to look so I can find the pins, I presume I haven't got to start unscrewing panels etc, I thought it was a 5 second job Rolling Eyes

Any help as always appreciated Mr. Green Bow down Mutt

It is a 5 second job which I always do on the tunnel.

Open the bonnet & on the back of each headlight is a screw off cover, which you unhook by turning through about a quarter turn and remove.

Put your hand in the hole in the back of the headlight & you will feel the lever which I think you lift up for Europe & down for UK. It may be the other way round but it's fairly obvious when you locate the lever with your finger & try to move it as it will only move one way - simples Thumbs Up

I'm in France now - although I didn't bother to change the lever as I drove to the Alps in daylight and will be driving back in daylight on Saturday.

For me the levers were in the up position when I checked so presumably they both go down in Europe and then back up again on return. It is clear however that different kinds of headlights in different model years have different settings so just remember the start point and put them back when you return.

Good luck on the trip. 2012 5.0L S/C

Thanks Craig Embarassed - unlike Salisbury Plain I seem to be able to drive with the back wheels following the front! Very Happy

There was no snow on the way up but its been snowing heavily the last couple of days. Driving back on Saturday - going to do it all in one go - about 14 hours. I'm sharing the driving so should be doable and I'm sure the RR will do as well going back as it did coming up.

In the meantime the skiing has been great and the RR is safely tucked up in the underground car park. 2012 5.0L S/C

Have a great trip and mind out for that yellow snow! Laughing

Mutley
I'm in Tignes. Been here since last Thursday. Last two days has been good fresh snow. Today was outstanding with heavy snow early afternoon then brilliant sunshine. More snow forecast for tonight then a few sunny days. I think Meribel will be good too.
Cheers and good luck! 2012 5.0L S/C

We and NKSC are off to France this week, start off the 830 mile drive on thursday night. I also switch the headlights in the tunnel though the Gestapo attendants hate you doing it on the train.

Heard there is new snow as lots of resorts haven't had much since early February, got the snow socks ready just in case. Discovery 4 HSE

I find this site http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Morzine/6day/mid to be reasonably accurate for temperature and snowfall forecasts - and it's looking good for sunshine after this weekends snow !
