i have the factory fitted Westfalia removable tow hitch on my FFRR.

i was wondering if anyone knew if this item will fit if i remove the round adaptor that the removable hitch locks into.

any help appreciated as always...

Dont think so but you can get one like that that does fit.

Why won't it? I bought something similar @ 3 years ago (actually for a US Motorhome) for @ £40. Have been fine for fitting my bike rack to and towing the boat.

You will need to check the "pintle" (bit that you stick into the frame) diameter, and the hole positions though, but they do say it is for a RR 02 onwards.... .

Yes it should just bolt into the reciever assembly, land rover sell exactly the same part as the heavy duty towing hitch.

I think it has a retainjng pin and clip sa opposed to a bolt so it can be removed easily. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ajay, thats exactly what i did, however i got out local fitters to do the mechanical install. Well chunky tow bar. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

guess it's a trip to P F Jones for a new hitch. the removable one is fine if i want to just tow, but this one i can bolt my adaptor bracket to it so i can tow and carry bikes at the same time. it's also cheaper than buying a new bike carrying system.

Mr. nbunney... do you have just the heavy duty tow bar like in the ebay picture, or is it the whole tow bar?

if so how much?

I have that exact one - fixed tow bar but am looking to replace it with the removable version (Swan neck I think they call it)

If you have this then perhaps we could swap. Mine was fitted about 4 weeks ago and never been used.!! Ash
