the wear issues with tyres that you refer to is specific to the Touareg. i would still suggest that you change tyres in axle sets on the FFRR as good practise, it just lets them wear evenly, but there is no need to change all four at the same time unless they all need to be changed. the early models have headlight wipers and the facelift just has washer jets!! don't forget the touch screen on the facelift too!! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Ludo - the "facelift" interior pictured is from 2006 onwards (2007MY). The most obvious way to tell is that the car will have an electronic handbrake, not a normal handle and also the new Terrain Response off road system. You'll also notice that the ignition key is now on the dash.

When I was looking I didn't notice a big jump in price. At least not for cars on the 'cusp' between non-facelifted and facelifted.
