Need information.

Hello,
At least i am about buying a ffrr vogue, 2004 or 2005/6. That's why I would like to know what waere the differences after the facelift? Inside or outside? To be honest, I can't tell. I have sold my car, a Touareg v6 tdi, and I am so happy to buy a ffrr in the days to come!!! Very excited! I would like to know if, as on the Touareg, you should change the fou tyres at the same time, or if you can change the front and the back separately? Thank you very much for your answers. Ludo

the wear issues with tyres that you refer to is specific to the Touareg. i would still suggest that you change tyres in axle sets on the FFRR as good practise, it just lets them wear evenly, but there is no need to change all four at the same time unless they all need to be changed. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Thank you STU for this. That's good to know, it was an issue on the Touareg! Do you know something about the 2005 facelift? Ludo

Hi Ludo,

The easiest way to tell the facelifted models apart is the shape of the front lights. The older model's lights are rectangle, the newer have rounded sections that extend over the grille area.

If your looking at the inside, the large red rectangle hazard light switch in the top middle of the dashboard lets you know it's an older model, as does the glovebox that has a key lock (it's a button on the newer model).

There are, of course, many more differences but these are some I find most easily spotted. Researching my first Range Rover purchase

The picture below is a pre-facelift 2002-2005ish model

The picture below is the facelifted model (mine) ignore the SC grille and you get the idea of the difference in the front end lights etc.

Internally the differences in the dash are subtle but can be seen when compared side by side.

note the difference in the vents in the centre console and the Nav unit.

Hope this helps. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hello,
Thank you, it is clear to me now. As soon as I buy mine, I will post pictures!
This very pleasant forum gave me the last push to choose the FFRR!

England 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

Ludo - the "facelift" interior pictured is from 2006 onwards (2007MY). The most obvious way to tell is that the car will have an electronic handbrake, not a normal handle and also the new Terrain Response off road system. You'll also notice that the ignition key is now on the dash.

However, outside of the obvious there were another bunch of improvments including better air con, more insulated windscreen, better storage etc etc. It's obviously very personal, but if your budget will allow then a 2006 or newer facelifted car I would suggest is the way to go.

There's a more detailed list of the improvements here -

I presume there will be a big jump in prices for the facelift models? cheers

When I was looking I didn't notice a big jump in price. At least not for cars on the 'cusp' between non-facelifted and facelifted.

However, I think it depends on how well informed the seller is.

Put it this way, I definitely saw many non-facelifted 56 reg cars up for the same (or more) than similar spec (and miles) 56/07 reg facelift cars. Confused Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...
